Tim Baker

Mr. Tim Baker usually lends the sound of guitar to the ass-kicking duo that is Carpenter & Clerk, though he can also be found playing the drums, the banjo, and the stomping foot. A carpenter by trade and a wanderer by nature, Mr. Baker is the hard edge of the blade that is Carpenter & Clerk.

Mr. Baker is influenced by such stellar musicians as Woody Guthrie, Jimmy Driftwood, Mariah Carey, Lord, Taco Bell, and Rally's. Naturally, Mr. Currie is influenced by many of the same artists. Mr. Baker has been known to suddenly call out the name of these inspirations.

Scott Currie

Mr. Scott Currie can usually be found plucking ever so tenderly on the strings of the banjo, although like his partner in music he is multi-talented and can be seen playing any number of instruments in the course of an evening. If Mr. Baker is the edge of the blade, then Mr. Currie is the pommel. Only together does their true genious shine.

Mr. Currie has been known to slay violent criminal types with a single strum on his banjo. Never approach a clerk, at night, with a banjo, and ill intent. You will regret it.

Ryan Deasy

Newly joining Carpenter & Clerk on stage for select performances, Mr. Ryan Deasy is a stand-up bass virtuoso and lends an important voice to the group.

Having been formally trained on bass since a toddler, Mr. Deasy spent many years in the Russian national circus, playing for dancing bears. Satisfying as this fake career that I just made up was, Ryan felt that he wanted more out of life, so he moved to Bloomington, Indiana and started school. Mr. Deasy currently plays with several bands in the Bloomington area. When playing with Carpenter & Clerk he prefers to go by his pseudonym: In the Classroom.
