Change in the wind..
It's been a good long while since this page was updated, but the winds of change are blowing strong! The band has changed to some degree; Carpenter & Clerk is closer to its roots as a duo with the addition of Mr. Ryan Deasy on stand-up bass. There are some exciting things in the works, we should have some merchandise up soon for all of you beautiful fans. For now, however, please excuse our metaphorical 'dust' as we re-invent the website and the Carpenter & Clerk image. Stay tuned for exciting shit. Yes.
Also, SHOW TONIGHT!

We're so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take time to enjoy where we are.

On the Road!
Well the band as it was (Carpenter & Clerk, Inc.) is currently on hiatus as two members, Sirs Tim Baker and Dylan Maloney (aka Carpenter and Ten Foxy Ladies), make their way down through Oregon and California by bicycle. Eventually they'll turn back this way and ride across whatever states are between California and Indiana. If you are extremely lucky you might just catch them busking on the street or see them cruising through your town with instruments strapped to their backs. Give em a french fry or a place to stay, I'm sure they'd appreciate it! Will update soon with pictures and video of their travels, just as soon as they get a chance to send me some! Until then, wish them luck on their journeys!

So alright let's see if I can keep this all straight. COMING UP: This Thursday, March 11th at the House Bar we've got a fine acoustic set shaping up with C&C, Inc. at about 8pm, followed by some sort of DJ at 11pm. The cost is nothing and the beer is cheap. Come down, it'll be fun. I promise.
On Saturday, March 13th, Carpenter (Tim Baker if you aren't in the know) will be opening up for and playing with the Payton Brothers Band at the Bluebird. Some friends will be accompanying Mr. Tim. Cover is $5, and it will rock. Do it.
Next Monday, March 15th, the C&C, Inc. boys (and girl) will be playing at the Bishop again, with a couple other bands playing around them (before, after, I don't know). Let's say that show starts at 8ish and ends at question marks. There is a cover of ONE WHOLE DOLLAR. Come down, rock out. Just do it, alright? (don't have a poster for this one, Andy Goheen decided to make some so I didn't bother)
On St. Patrick's Day (or March 17th if you didn't know already), there's going to be an ass-rocking show at Fester's (yeah, yeah - 902's - whatever). Carpenter & Clerk, Incorporated, Jackalantern, and Davy Jay Sparrow and the Well-known Famous Drovers will be rocking it like a fucking seminar all night. Show starts at 10pm and goes until the show ends. Figure it out. It will rock. See below for all the posters!

C&C, Inc. are playing TWO BLOODY SHOWS IN ONE NIGHT. Come down to The Venue (next to Soma, across the street from Snow Lion) at 5:30 for a little pre-show with the boys and girl. Then join us at The Bishop around 8:00 for a three part show, one part of which is Carpenter & Clerk, Incorporated, of course!

ALSO, on February 18th they'll be playing a show at Max's Place from 9-10 followed by Jackalantern. On February 23rd and March 15th they'll be playing at the Bishop. Old-Timey Kill, Acoustic Rock Out
So I've been slowly working on getting a few things done on this website and in the greater world beyond. The Music Downloads page has been updated with a new disc of demo tracks, plus I cut up the radio show into more manageable chunks. Now you have the option of downloading the entire show as one 30 minute block of music and banter or you can get it in six smaller pieces. Word.
It looks like Carpenter & Clerk Incorporated is going to be playing a show at the Bishop on March 15th, which seems ever so far away but hey, it's only a month and a half! We're practically almost to spring already! Anyway, C&C Inc. is also playing at Max's on February 15th I believe, I'll be updating with posters and crap soon enough. You can just WAIT.

Music Downloads and Radio Shows!
Tonight (Wednesday, January 20th) at 9:30 PM, Carpenter & Clerk will be playing LIVE on WFHB! For those of you living in the WFHB listening area, that's 98.1 and 91.3 FM on the radio dial. In honor of this momentous occasion, we've decided to create a Downloads section of the website and release a free album (well sort of a demo I guess) by Carpenter & Clerk! The radio show will also be available as a download in a couple days, so check back soon.
I'm going to be revamping the Video section later today, adding some newer videos from Max's Place and the Player's Pub. For that matter, there will probably be significant changes in the layout of the entire website soon, now that we have a domain name and everything. Sooo... STAY TUNED!

New News!
So I just heard about some upcoming Carpenter & Clerk shows, and I thought maybe perhaps I could share them with you. You are welcome to come, just make sure your mother says it's ok. We don't want a repeat of last time, now do we? Boy was she mad!

On the 15th of January, yes this very Friday, Jackson Brothers Reggae Jam is closing for Carpenter & Clerk at Max's Place. Official starting time is right around 8, mmmm k?
The very next day, at Uncle Fester's (or for those of you born in the last couple months I guess it's called 902's now), Carpenter & Clerk are actually opening for the New Old Cavalry! Again the times are a little fuzzy but use common sense people. When do shows at bars usually start? Probably not at 3 in the afternoon and probably earlier than 3 in the morning, figure it out. Ok I'll take the guesswork out of it for ya, it starts around 9:30-10pm. Word.
A couple days later on the 18th of January, Scott Currie (being Clerk for those of you not in the know) is playing the Songwriter's Showcase at the Player's Pub and will be joined by our local Carpenter, Tim! Starts at 8pm. Be there or be stupid.
Now this is something you should especially take note of: on the 20th you can catch Carpenter & Clerk LIVE on WFHB (98.1 and 91.3 FM on the radio dial in Bloomington) at 9:30 pm. If you should happen to miss that, I'll have the download available a day or two after they play. Check back!

Time for another excellent show brought to you by the man in black and the man in overalls (and some other bands too, I guess). Show officially starts at 7:30 this Thursday, the 17th of December. There will be refreshments provided at your own expense (obviously, it is a restaurant after all), there will be music provided free of charge, and you just need to bring yourselves and a willingness to have your face rocked. Rocked.

Radio Recording with Davy Sparrow (Clerk Only)
Last night Scott (Clerk) played with Davy Jay Sparrow and the Drovers live on the radio at local station WFHB. Fortunately, you can still hear it if you weren't aware of it in time to catch it live! The link below can either be listened to or downloaded for later listening, just right click and save as.

Good show Saturday night!
Well if you missed the show at Max's then I pity the fool. Seriously though, it was killer. Got a few photos, a video or two, and I'll probably post them later today. MAYBE. If you're good. Or if I am motivated to do anything at all after work. Yeah.

-Edward Abbey
More info on the show, yo!
Looks like it's going to be a killer show on November 21st at Max's Place, that's ten days away, next Saturday. Carpenter & Clerk In the Classroom are headlining the show, naturally. Opening up for C&CItC are a couple fine groups; the first group being the Bloomington Sacred Harp Singers, the other being a string band of some sort, possibly the Fatted Calf String Band? I'll let you know when they let me know, ok? Good.
The show will be completely free, a one-night, one-microphone, three-band extravaganza for nothing at all! Only a fool or scoundrel would miss it. You aren't one of those right? Right? Seeya there!
On another note, the Bios page has been updated with the addition of Mr. Davy Jay Sparrow and some links have been added (to the bottom of the menu bar on your left) to other places you can find C&C information. Huzzah!
Art is making something out of nothing and selling it.

New Content, Show on the 21st!
Hey everybody! Carpenter & Clerk now officially have a message board! I know, it might be overkill, but can it hurt? No, no it can't. So stop into the message board, do a quick sign-up (or not, up to you) and post some messages!
There is also new content up in the Media section, including new videos and the new Bios page with information about Carpenter & Clerk and the people they play with. Another announcement, which I'll post more info about later on, is that C&C are playing a show on the 21st of November at Max's Place! Come on down for good food, good beer, and a hell of a lot of good music! Also, TONIGHT at Max's Place, be there or be square for the weekly Open Mic Night! You know C&C will be there!
Strong men also cry.

Welcome to the Site!
Ok, so this is still an unofficial website. I haven't expressly gotten the band's permission to use their name, image, songs, pictures, or anything else. I also don't care. This is as close as they have to having an official site, discounting Facebook and crap like that, so that's what I am calling it. Deal with it.
